How we judge
Every figure here comes from manufacturer documentation, quoted verbatim and labelled "manufacturer-measured" where the factory measured it. That label matters: independent tests across this product category often measure 50–70% less than the factory figure, so we publish the factory number, attributed, rather than pretend we verified it — the same standard as our science hub. What actually matters in a red light panel
1. Wavelengths: count and range
Panels emit specific nanometre bands, and the range tells you what the panel can deliver: visible red around 630–670 nm, near-infrared from 810 to 850 nm and beyond, with some panels adding shorter visible bands like 480 nm. More bands is not automatically better — but a published list of exact wavelengths is the minimum bar. If a brand says only "red and near-infrared", it has told you almost nothing.
2. Irradiance at treatment distance
Irradiance is the power arriving at your skin, quoted in mW/cm² or W/m² — and it collapses with distance, so a figure without a distance is meaningless. Look for a number measured at a realistic treatment distance (six inches is the common test point), and check whether it is labelled manufacturer-measured or independently verified. Treat any unattributed irradiance claim as decoration.
3. LED count and coverage
Emitter count times panel size is coverage. A 72-LED desktop panel treats a face or a joint; covering a torso at once takes hundreds of emitters across a metre-plus face. Dual-chip LEDs pack two emitters per package, so compare emitter counts, not just panel dimensions.
4. Flicker and EMF
Cheap drivers flicker and cheap power supplies leak EMF — the two quiet quality tells in this category. Honest problem: almost no factory publishes either figure, including ours. The numbers are requested from the factories and published when they arrive; until then we will not invent them, and you should not accept invented ones elsewhere.
5. Certifications
A panel is a mains-powered device you stand in front of for minutes at a time. Ask for the conformity file: an EC Declaration of Conformity covering the Low Voltage and EMC directives, plus RoHS for hazardous substances, with certificate numbers that can be checked. "CE" printed on a product photo is not a certificate.
6. Size vs use case
Buy for the job. Desktop panels suit face and targeted use on a schedule; full-body panels suit standing sessions; flagship walls suit a dedicated wellness room. The wrong size is the most common regret — a small panel you have to keep repositioning, or a wall you never stand in front of.

Irradiance at six inches, manufacturer-measured: over 170 mW/cm². Colour touchscreen with timer, mode, pulse and brightness, plus remote. 1,360 × 300 × 65 mm, 15.5 kg. Honest gaps: actual power draw is not stated by the manufacturer, and the conformity documents for this series are not yet on file — both are published before ordering opens, which is why no CE mark appears on the product page. The full nine-wavelength spectrum (480–1,060 nm), per-wavelength dimming and pulsing, touchscreen, remote and app. Irradiance at six inches, manufacturer-measured: all channels ≥ 1,400 W/m², red ≥ 150 W/m², near-infrared ≥ 1,200 W/m². 1,840 × 420 × 65 mm; 12 A at 220 V — check your circuit.
