Cold, Heat & Light. Explained.

What the human studies actually show, what they do not, and the protocols people use in practice. Every claim is tiered, every source is linked, and nothing here is medical advice.

How we grade evidence

Studied in humans

Human trials or large observational cohorts exist. We say what they measured and what they did not.

Early or mixed evidence

Small studies, animal or in-vitro work. Interesting, labelled as such, never presented as settled.

Not established

Claims you will see elsewhere that the literature does not support. We name them and skip them.

Protocol guides are included with the equipment — temperature, time, frequency. The part most stores skip. Nothing in this section is medical advice; talk to a qualified professional about your own situation.

Science questions, straight

Is any of this medical advice?
No. These pages summarise published research and common practice. Your own use is a conversation for a qualified professional who knows your history.
Do the products treat any condition?
No disease-treatment claims are made for any Peakspan product. The science pages describe what studies measured; the product pages describe the equipment.
Why do you separate human and animal evidence?
Because a result in a mouse or a cell dish is not a result in you. Where the evidence is early, the page says so in the same sentence.
Why label irradiance as manufacturer-measured?
Independent tests across this product category often measure 50–70% less than the factory figure. We publish the factory number, attributed, rather than pretend we verified it.
